Using Your Guided Relaxation Recordings

Your Guided Relaxation Tracks are designed to guide you down into a state of deep emotional and physical relaxation. Each track begins with a progressive relaxation to release all traces of tension and stress from your mind and body. Once you have achieved a deep level of relaxation, your conscious mind begins to drift away, and your subconscious mind becomes much more open to positive suggestions and changes. It is in this state that the guided imagery and focused meditation within each track is able to evoke beneficial changes within your thoughts, your behavior, and ultimately your life. Please do not listen to these recordings while driving or operating machinery.

The Confident Childbirth Affirmations Track does not contain a progressive relaxation, and is completely safe to listen to at any time, including while driving. It is recommended that you listen to your affirmations every day, in the background of your normal activities. Affirmations teach you to create new, positive thought patterns so that you can replace your old, negative mental programming.

These recordings are NOT a substitute for a childbirth education course: however, they can be used as a supplement to the skills and recordings you should already be working with. We strongly recommend that you enroll in a Hypnosis for Birthing Childbirth Education class. Please visit our sister site Hypnobirthing Utah, for more information about our unique Hypnobirthing program.

Here is The Birth Year’s recommended listening schedule to help you create your home practice routine:

During Pregnancy: Ideally, you will listen to one relaxation track per day, during a time when you would normally be awake. Choose a comfortable position in a safe, quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Turn off your cell phone. All you need to do is listen and allow your mind and body to relax. Don’t worry if you “fall asleep” or can’t remember much of the script afterwards. Your mind is like a recording device that is running 24 hours a day.

At night, put the recordings on a playlist and listen to them while you sleep. Your subconscious mind is still incredibly active while you sleep and will be open and receptive to the positive messages.

  • Daily Listen to the Confident Childbirth Affirmations Track 1-3x per day, in the background of your daily activities. You can also listen to any of these recordings each night while you are asleep
